Throw away event

This weekend was the tournament at Big Spring High School for speech and debate.  Bibianna warmed my heart and entered LD, Poetry and Domestic Extemporaneous or DX for short.  After two successful prelim rounds and a bye she went to draw her topic for her first attempt at DX.  I could tell by looking at her that she was extremely nervous.  I walked her and Conner to the auditorium and said to her right before she went in:

"Look, this is your throw away event.  Just go in there and have fun.  And talk, and talk, and talk."

To which Bibianna replied, "But this isn't fun, that's the problem!"

"Then go make it fun!"  I stated.  "This is your throw away event.  You don't care if you break or not"

At the end of the day, Bibianna came home with third place in DX.

This will no longer be her throw away event.
