Tornado, Eliza Doolittle day, stolen cars, Ray Manzarek dies

Let me address the title in random and easiest order.  First, today is apparently Eliza Doolittle day.  How do I know this?  Because a couple of theatre FB people posted that is was so.  On behalf of my Texas lack of annunciation, Happy Liza Doolel da.

Today, this afternoon specifically, has been consumed with reports of tornadoes all over Oklahoma and it now seems like some north of San Angelo.  Nothing scary to report here.

Ray Manzarek passed away from a battle with cancer.  He was 74.  SEVENTY FOUR.  Wow that makes me feel old.  He was a great musician and I am sorry to hear of his passing.

Sometime during the night, I was awakened by Paisley barking and Carolyn yelling at someone on the telephone.  Thankfully I had taken an Ambien so I went right back to sleep after we got Paisley calmed down.  Then a little while later, the doorbell rang and it was the police.  The story is not clear, because with Carolyn it never is, but based on what I can barely remember, and what Bibianna heard and what Carolyn told me today, I think that her boyfriend, Damien, had her car and her purse. I think Carolyn called and reported her car and purse as being stolen and the police found it and brought it home to her.  Today, I asked Carolyn what happened and got an answer like "it's a long story" and "does it matter?"  I told her that I really wish she would go see a doctor and get some help.  Why did I say that?  It is such a useless conversation, but what the heck.  A lot of accusations about how she is miserable because she doesn't have parents and has been homeless since she was ? and that she didn't have a normal childhood and that I don't even know her or want to get to know her and why can't I just tell her what is wrong with her and she doesn't need a doctor, I do, and, and, and..... well you get the idea.

Stewart is in Shannon Behavioral Health.  He is the light that maybe someday Carolyn will realize that she has an illness and that it has to be treated just like any other illness.  Maybe someday she will realize that this isn't what life is supposed to be like.  Maybe someday I won't get up and live in fear of what today is going to bring.  Someday.
